Unlike other heaters, the vegetable oil is *not* in direct contact with heating elements. Uses state of the art heating technology. Tube is internally fluted for maximum heating in the shortest possible distance.

The Standard is recommended for most 4 and 5 cylinder diesels with an average highway fuel consumption rate of more than approximately 25 miles per gallon (less than 9.5 litres per 100 km), or, for tractors/generators/boats, etc., less than 9.5 litres per hour.

A "looped return" is assumed (return fuel is sent directly back to engine, not returned to the vegetable oil tank).

Includes barbed hose fittings for 3/8" ID fuel line (approx. 10 mm).

Our Vegtherm is famous for fast heating of vegetable oil, and has been used on thousands of SVO conversions. It is included with our kits. It has been added to many SVO systems to boost temperature of SVO to acceptable levels where owners found that coolant-only systems were not heating quickly enough nor thoroughly enough (this is very common!). We originated this device and have sold it to many satisfied customers over the years (see our testimonial page) - beware of cheap imitations.

It can also be used to preheat biodesel. Inherently self-limiting, so is more reliable than a thermostat-controlled device.

The Vegsensor can also be added, for finer control of upper temperature of vegetable oil in low flow rate applications (see Vegsensor elsewhere in this section of the catalog)

Alternator, alternator belt, battery, etc. must all be in good conditon, and minimum recommended alternator rating is 55 amps.
